Traditional mesh screens are usually made using methods such as punching, weaving, or welding, and are made of carbon steel, stainless steel, or alloy steel. The screen panel is severely impacted and worn by ores, and coupled with the high frequency of vibrating screens, the welds are prone to fatigue cracking, resulting in a short service life and frequent replacement, which seriously affects the production efficiency of vibrating screens. Due to the use of steel wire rope as the skeleton material and the high elastic modulus of polyurethane itself, which absorbs impact force with high strength and wear resistance, polyurethane screen panel has high tensile strength, and its load-bearing capacity is more than 2.5 times that of rubber mesh. Its service life is 8-10 times longer than ordinary metal screens, 3 times longer than stainless steel screens, and 3.9 times longer than natural rubber screens. It is currently the most wear-resistant screen material in the world.
The screen panel surface has self-cleaning performance inside, does not block holes, and has high screening efficiency. Due to the strong water permeability and large sieve cone angle (140 °) of polyurethane, it can effectively prevent the adhesion of wet fine particles, making it suitable for screening and grading of wet fine particles. Polyurethane screen panel is used in hydropower stations, building materials, and other metal mining industries. The screening efficiency of various materials within the range of 0.1mm to 170mm is not affected by dry or wet screening. The superiority of polyurethane screening surface was more fully demonstrated for dehydration and desliming within the range of 0.5-3mm. Polyurethane has a low density (1.32kg/m3) and is lighter in weight than metal screen surfaces, which can reduce production unit consumption and therefore meet the requirements of large-scale development of screening machines.
